Without doubt, Alpaca Inn is the best place to stay in Lava Hot Springs. I had tried several places, but I do not need to search any more. The owners say it is remodeled, but I saw the property before the current owners bought it and I would suggest "rebuilt" is a better term. I was impressed with the quality of the rooms and that the decorating is not cookie-cutter style. What is in each room was designed for that particular room. Last year a few members of my family stayed there during our family reunion. This year, we are staying there again and additional family is staying there, too. My only concern is that in 3 years, we will have to make our reservations about 6 months in advance. Try it and you will agree!

We just returned from a weekend at Lava Hot Springs, staying at The Alpaca Inn. We wanted to stay somewhere that was nice and reasonably priced. We were SO lucky that we ended up at The Alpaca Inn. They were one of the lower priced places to stay in Lava and after having been there and seeing the other hotels, I am sure that we stayed at the NICEST hotel in Lava! We were in Room #1 and it was so special and cozy! There were alpacas everywhere… pictures of them on the walls, an alpaca shaped mirror, even an alpaca room number! Our main room had a queen size bed, a couch, a sitting table with two chairs, a TV with DVD player, a fridge, a microwave, a luggage table, and two small end tables and it was still very roomy. Our bathroom was huge and elegant. We arrived very late on Friday night and the Owner of the hotel had called earlier and told us the code to get into our room. When we got there, the blinds were open and the lamp on the night table was on – such a great “welcome”!! The Owners were super nice… answering all of our many questions with knowledge and care. The lobby is filled with lovely items made from alpaca fur (is it called fur??) and more pictures of alpacas. From the location to our room to the hotel as a whole to the Owners… we were very pleased and will for sure stay at The Alpaca Inn next time we’re in Lava!!

A small group of us stayed at the Alpaca Inn for a family funeral in the area and enjoyed it immensely. The rooms are very cute and well appointed. Their website photos don't actually do the rooms justice, much nicer in person. Everything is new, clean and well kept. The owner is very helpful and friendly and more than willing to accommodate. The location is ideal, walking distance to restaurants, grocery store and a few blocks from the pool and hot pots. I will definitely be visiting the Alpaca Inn again, and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

salt lakeDec 8, 2008I acutally did not stay at this hotel but ran in to a couple that was staying there. They invited us over to see thier room. It was soooo clean and cute. Had I not already paid to stay at a roach motel I would have swithched room. I am so excited about this Hotel I am going to Lava again in 2 weeks just to stay there.

We loved the uniqueness of this motel. Every room has a different layout and we enjoyed seeing the various options they had to choose from. (we were there when they were still doing some renovations so got a cool tour! Many rooms for large groups, and some had separate bedrooms.) We were on a business trip WITHOUT kids but would definitely return with the kids to enjoy the town and experience the area. Very Romantic getaway the weekend we were there!!
